Memories of James W. Clepper '46

I spent my time on the Bergall as a GM2 (Gunners Mate).

I was on the BERGALL from March, '46 til December of that year, when I was discharged.
Was I a young stud, or what?

We had a great ships' party that was one heck of a Laui in Honolulu, June 24, 1946.   I am not in the picture as I had shore patrol that night. MY luck is still holding.on.

First they gathered for a crew picture. This one is the crew and their girls.   Bill Dowling is standing on the far left with the hat.

This was snapped just a bit later with the guys and gals that put the party on and our skipper (Thomas Kimmel).

A few of the guys took a break for refreshments. I'm sure it's soda pop and tea.

The entertainment was the traditional Hawaiin dancers...

I have a couple old watch lists that would be posted in the boat... some good friends shared many of their memories while standing those watches.
