(C) WEATHER -
About 100 miles off the South China Coast between Cape Varella and Cape Padaran a blanket of clouds habitually formed at sunrise and sunset making it difficult to obtain star sights.   This condition was more prevalent at sunset than at sunrise.
(D) TIDAL INFORMATION -
A current of 1 to 2 knots was encountered along the South China Coast between Cape Varella and Cape Padaran.   This current set to the south throughout the day and existed within 50 miles of the coast.   Between 50 and 100 miles off the coast a current of 1 to 2 knots setting in a northerly direction was encountered.
A southerly set of about 1 knot was encountered at the western entrance to Balabao Strait.
(E) NAVIGATIONAL AIDS -
Charts appeared to be accurate.
