The USS Bergall Association Scholarship Program
(two boats, one crew)

USS BERGALL ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED - May 2017

USS Bergall Shipmates and Family (SS-320 & SSN-667)

The Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the award of our  $500.00 scholarship for 2017 to Mr. Benjamin Lowell Rust, resident of  Easley, SC and son of Shipmate Lt. Lowell Rust (93-96), to attend  Clemson University this Fall.  Benjamin has an outstanding academic  record in high school while still finding time for sports (soccer,  baseball, basketball), clubs and volunteering in his school and  community.  He plans on majoring in mechanical engineering in college  with a goal of utilizing this education to finding solutions to the  many environmental issues of today.  We congratulate Benjamin for his  many achievements and are pleased to support his pursuit of a college  education.  We are sure his parents are very proud of him and pleased  to see him continue his journey into higher education.

Help us continue this legacy with your contributions and spreading the  word about the program with fellow shipmates that may have children,  grand-children, etc. who may be interested and qualify for the program  in the future.

Mr. Benjamin Rust:

Congratulations!  You are the winner of the USS Bergall Association Scholarship for 2017.  I called and left a message on your cell phone just a few minutes ago.  A check in the amount of $500.00 along with the award letter will be mailed to you within the next two weeks.

On behalf of the Bergall Association membership, I wish you the best as you begin your college studies at Clemson University.  I am sure your parents are very proud of your accomplishments during high school and excited as you begin your journey into post-secondary education.

Our only request is that you provide a personal photograph to post on the Bergall Association website and an unofficial transcript of your completed Fall 2017 semester.  Please forward these items to Jerome Whitehead, our Association Secretary, at the following address:
