Memories of Tom Harrington

I served on the Bergall from '70 to '73 and earned my Dolphins about Jan '71. The photo shows Captain Billy F. Tally awarding my Dolphins at sea in his quarters somewhere in the Caribbean. What I remember most about Captain Tally was that the crew trusted him. Most of us would have done anything he asked us to do.

This photo was taken in 1970 or 71 from the pier in St Croix. The boat dropped off most of the crew for liberty but had to leave temporarily to make way for a departing cruise ship. The photo was take as she returned to the dock. The photographer was Lt. Leslie Jacobi.
