Here's my pictures of friends and times from the war years 1944 and 1945.
The "kid" (A.B. Kirkwood) - no less! Get a load of his side-burns! He even had a clean white hat! Wonder where he found one?
George Marquis astride one of our 5"/25 caliber deck guns. Those guns sure were loud. You had to stuff cotton in your ears or it would make you deaf if you were on deck, and they sure carried a heavy punch.
