| 2. | It is noted with great satisfaction that the first War Patrol of the U.S.S. BERGALL (SS320) resulted in the sinking of a large AO of 16,800 tons, a medium AK of 4000 tons and a small SMC of 700 tons - a total of 21,500 tons. |
| 3. | Although many contacts were made with smaller vessels these were left unmolested in order to increase the chance of contacting bigger game. The Commanding Officer displayed good judgement and initiative and skill in executing his attacks. |
