| Gun Attack No. 2. On 2 November a
sailboat was sunk by gunfire in the Java Sea. Attacks on such craft in this area should not be made unless and until positive evidence of the enemy character of the vessel is established. |

| 4. | BERGALL reached Fremantle in excellent material con- dition. Other than routine repairs and inspections there were no major overhaul items except removal of the JK-QC head. Refit will be accomplished by Relief Crew No. 6 and Submarine Repair Unit. |
| 5. | The Commanding Officer, Officers, and Crew of the Bergall are congratulated on a well conducted and thoroughly satisfactory first patrol and on the considerable damage inflicted on the enemy. |
