  Target Data - Damage Inflicted
Description Masts of single ship sighted by high periscope, range 35,000 yards at 1755 HOW. Commenced tracking and closing range. Made radar contact at 26,000 yards. When range had closed to 8,000 yards identified target as a TONE or ATAGO Class CA, escorted by a large destroyer or light cruiser. Visibility was good, no moon.
   
Ships Sunk: One (1) TONE or ATAGO Class CA (EU).

Ships damaged or  
probably sunk One cruiser, CA (EU).
   
Damage  
determined by: Saw at least two (2) torpedoes hit, followed by enormous explosion, splitting the target entirely in two. Both sections burned fiercely and had drifted about 1,5500 yards apart when last seen.
   
  Damage to second vessel in the group is predicated on her failure to give chase or continue fire - (See page 5)
   
Target Draft 14 ft. . . . Course: 010dT. . . . Speed: 15 knots
