4. The Squadron Commander congradulates the Commanding Officer, officers and crew of the U.S.S. BERGALL, not only for the considerable damage inflicted on the enemy but on the magnificent achievement of bringing their damaged ship back. The decision to attempt this in view of expected enemy opposition reflects credit on an intrepid Commanding Officer and a Fighting Ship. All hands will bend every effort to get this stout-hearted crew back on the firing line as soon as possible.
